Customer Rating: ![]() 04/07/2010 replaced old for new same model by dan79 This is my second unit of this brand and type. The first version lasted 3 years of heavy use. I really enjoy the portability of this type of unit. I enjoy the ability to pull songs from XM content without hassle. There is still reception problems, but the new version is improved from the older unit. The Auto record feature also allows for something to listen to when reception is a problem. if you listen to music you can scroll through songs for example and play what you like. Nice new feature not on older version. Durability will be determined over time, as I have only had this for one month. Previous version was very good for my experience with it. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 04/06/2010 Great Portable Radio by Joe2255 Overall great item, lacking preset station buttons and you cannot listen to a recording if you are recording something else. Those are the only two negatives, everything else is great about this radio. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 03/22/2010 Love Satellite Radio by Roxy628 I love this radio! I was diappointed in Pioneers XMP3 due to the fact that this is my 3rd replacement in 6 months. So far my replacement is working well. If you do purchase be sure to get the Best But protection plan, its inexpensive and you get an easy exchange if you have problems. No mailing your XMP3 to pioneer. Overall I really like this product and would recommend to a friend. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 03/08/2010 Starts Great, Ends not so well by MoJoe71 I have had this unit for about 7 months. It just dies, and the only reason I do not score it lower is that Best Buy replaced it for me. I live in Canada and it take 5 minutes to get to the US so I was kind of jammed dealing with Pioneer as they have a US and Canadian unit, so Best Buy was great. I loved this unit when I got it. The portable reception is very good if you are in a sub division, but if you go into a wooded area, forget getting a signal. The unit works very well in the house (faces south), and is bullet proof in the car. I still very much like the unit, however the battery was only good for about 20 minutes tops, which stinks when you're just starting out on a run or bike ride and the thing dies. Basically you might as well go with an XM Express, and get service for your smart phone for portability. This was not an option when I bought this. In fairness I did have the player in the dock all winter, which I'm sure didn't help the battery life. I am going to try and let the battery run down on my new unit. I am really disappointed in Pioneer. The failure of this unit is EXACTLY the same for everyone. This should be fixable for them, fairly easily as it happens time after time. You will eventually get a 'Powering Up....' message that dosen't go away. They should yank this unit until they fix it. It's quite embarrassing for Pioneer and XM selling this unit as is. I loved the idea of this unit, but don't think I'd buy it again. If you are still considering it, check out reviews online, at sites like XMfan.com. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 01/24/2010 Don't buy! by bmgfl My mother and law, and myself have both bought this same radio. I bought the extended warranty through best buy, and she didn't. I've had mine replaced 4 times within a few months in-store, she has had hers replaced 3 times since september from pioneer. Both of us continue to have the issue where it powers up, and gets stuck on the powering up screen, and won't continue. This is insane! |

Customer Rating: ![]() 01/12/2010 Nice features. Some hardware limitations by eHall27 I have only had this hooked up for aweek. In home setup was very easy. The room it is in faces south so I placed antenna in window sill and worked well. The remote works fine for me. It's not laid out all that well but is functionable. The major problem was with car installation. The car power cable is very short. I use power outlet in middle armrest. From there the cable could reach the center part of the dash only. I planned to install it in the vent near my driver side door. Luckily I had an old Sirius 5 volt car power adapter or this would not have been possible. This wire was twice as ling as the included adapter the unit does seem delicate I have tried to use only the remote to control it as I will not be using it outside the car or home. I havE also ordered an inivisishield to protect the screen. The included antenna also has short wires making custom installs tough depending on how you want to route the wire. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 01/09/2010 Not Happy by RiverGmblr The fist one wouldn't power up so I took it back for a replacement. It lasted about a month. Took it back for another replacement. Now it doesn't work. That's three in one year! Poor reception without the dock. The navigation wheel didn't work all the time and forget using the wheel while driving. Can't erase recorded stations. I am very disappointed in this product. If a product has this many problems it should be pulled off the market and not keep ripping people off!!! I would not recommend this player to anyone!!! |

Customer Rating: ![]() 12/21/2009 You'll need a new one in 6 months by CavMan Check XM boards before investing $200. If you like satellite radio it is the best featured receiver but they fail after 6 months and it is a one month turnaround for a warranty replacement. Additionally, if you don't have the receipt Pioneer won't help you. Don't expect to take this with you and be able to easily listen to live XM as you walk the dog. It has to have an unobstructed view of the SW sky to recieve a signal and if your body or buildings get in the way you will not get a signal. The reason this unit is so popualr among satellite radio junkies is that there is not another unit out there this size that lets you view, manage, and record content like this one. Understand that the XMP3 can't relace your ipod and the computer interface is clunky. Consider it if you listen to SR everyday, understand how it works, and want to get the most out of the 150 plus channels. You will quickly find out you do not want to go back to your old receiver. Expect to replace this reciever at least once before the warranty is over. I have the Best of Sirius and XM (about $150 yr) and this reciever helped me discover cool shows and music I would not have found with the old receivers. I'm hooked on it and will likely ante up another $200 when my warranty ends and my warranty unit inevitably fails. The XMP3 is not for everyone, and I would only reccomend for someone who is familar with satellite radio and the costs associated with this unit. |

Customer Rating: ![]() 12/12/2009 Sweet by musicfangene It sounds great in the house, in the car and on foot. In the directions, they should stress the importance of CHECKING THE ANTENNAE STRENGTH first, before you register, sign on or anything else. Once you have that, the rest is easy. The headphones are awesome. Easy to add mp3s. Free car kit. BB King 24/7....I am really impressed. |
