Easy set-up and great performance. by popi2
This is my second Airport Extreme at this location. The first one lasted over 7 years. This new one provides better range, fewer outages, and offers much faster speeds. I have an earlier version of this model, a little over a year-old, which is being used in another home in Florida. I am very pleased with its performance as well. I am currently running two networks on this wireless base station--one for business use, and the other for family use.
Great product by Kevin
Very fast but little pricy. Awesome and fast. If you have an old router. Go with this one
Awesome Router by KeithEBrand
Apple as usual does a great job and puts out a stable product.

Good Value for what you pay strong signal without dropping the signal
Device improved connectivity by Cary
We were experiencing terrible wi-fi using the Time Warner model/router that came with our 50Mbps internet speed ... poor wifi was killing the speed, and it couldn't handle all the devices we wanted to use (around 10 apple devices). The apple wifi with a new model/router has significantly improved our speed, and so far we've had no problem with devices connecting and/or getting dropped. It covers more of the house, too.
i-phobic, but this is a great, stable router/AP by hien34
I'm not strictly anti-Apple, but I like choices and open-architecture that Windows PCs and Android phones/tablets can give you (ex. want a phone w/a screen larger than 4.5"? Wait til Apple says you can have one - otherwise feel free to choose from any number of Android and even Windows phones!).
So besides a single iPad that's used by the baby and as an occasional Uverse remote, I didn't own a single i-item by choice.
After being let down constantly by the new AC routers out there (Linksys and Netgear) that would constantly drop out or hang (seriously not more than a day or two at a time). I have an older Uverse 2wire modem that I'm connecting to the router/AP via DMZ-plus mode (basically giving it an open port to the internet). Uverse support figured it would require a factory reset of the modem and reconfiguration and then please "try again" with the other routers. Not having time for that, I read some reviews about the AirPort Extreme and decided to try it.
Setup was easy (via an iPad) though I was underwhelmed by the configuration options. If you're used to looking at the advanced settings of other routers, don't bother...
However, the most important thing is that it has been working flawless since day 1! Not a hiccup at all with tons of devices (multiple laptops, gaming PC, PS3, Xbox360, 4 mobile phones, Ooma, 2 drop cams, 2 other security cameras, etc.). It's been more than 2 months and I am nothing but impressed.
For a device like this, I want to set it up and walk away knowing it's working all the time (especially since I use it for home/baby monitoring).
Provides the best coverage by JimR
Have tried an amped wireless repeater before getting the apple AirPort Extreme. In real world tests it provided the best range of all. Very surprised as I really thought it wouldn't beat the amped but it did. Worth the extra dollars for the apple version.
Great product and the easiest to set up by sammie131313
Now that I have both the Airport Express and the Airport Extreme, our wifi is fantastic everywhere in the house. I could set it up from my iPhone. It was the easiest piece of equipment I have ever purchased. I can monitor how the signal is doing from an App on my iPhone as well. I am very happy with this product.
Fabulous Coverage by DocHodgesNvl
The Airport Extreme assumes too little knowledge on the end user's part. If the interface decides you can't extend a network there is not much you can do but reset and try again. Some of the advanced options are hard to find. After you've Googled and piddled a bit you'll be fine.
The tightly controlled interface aside - this thing is awesome! We have an Airport/Time capsule in the living room, an Airport Extreme at the end of the house and another out in the garage. We can stream music/video and check netcams all over the property. I can listen to Pandora on the tractor and stream classical music while cleaning the chicken coop. Nice!
Works great with easy setup by TrinReviews
Fantastic range (covers my 1980, 2 story, 2800 ft^2 home with ease), easy setup and can migrate from older Airport Extremes, works with AirPrint devices, and has been rock solid for over a month now.
Only draw back is price! So, 4 stars.
