I was hesitant to pay the extra cost to move from a PC laptop to a Mac, and compromised by getting a smaller screen than I was used to. I also opted not to pay for the retina display. I am not disappointed by either choice. The display is very bright and clear. My photos look wonderful. And the smaller screen makes it so light and portable. Transitioning from lots of big files for work and photos was no sweat, and the learning curve has been minimal. As with other Apple products I have used, it is very intuitive and easy to learn.I really like the fact that it syncs with all my other Apple products like iPhone and iPad. And, I can face time with my friends who have apple products. I also love the touchpad. This is an excellent computer.

If you like Apple computers you will like this computer. I made sure it had the processing power I needed to do the data processing for work I do at home some nights. The webcam works great.

No. Macs aren't perfect. But, this is the best laptop I have ever used. I am a designer/programmer and I often have several Adobe and Office programs open at once while working on several files per program. Performance has not even stepped into the equation. Everything runs smoothly. I recently had some Webex meetings and I was able to quickly move a few files to a second "desktop" and share my screen without having to close all of the other items I was working on. They stayed nicely hidden away while I shared the pertinent information in the meeting. I highly recommend this, or any other Mac laptop to anyone who just wants a computer that works.
