Bought this for my grandson. Turn the screen around, lay it flat, and strap it to the back of the headrest in my car with Velcro straps and it works great. He loves it. Great picture quality. Large 10 inch screen. Memory play. Payed a lot more for the previous RCA that didn't hold up. Very pleased with this product.

The volume defaults to the highest setting when the device is turned on! This is idiotic? The remote control does not control the volume. Can you believe it? The AV out connector leaves the device's speakers on meaning that if yo hook it up to a TV and adjust the TV volume (e.g. lower or mute), the device volume stays the same! Ridiculous! The sound controls are tiny 2 buttons (1 for up and 1 for down) on the side so close together that it is difficult to press just one. Who designed this thing! The battery has a tiny post which breaks easily causing the battery to no longer stay in. Not kid friendly. The disc door is flimsy and breaks easily.

I have had this DVD player for a long time now has lasted the longest of any of the portable ones I have ever owned by fold. The one problem it has is the laser gets dirty easy and it will say "no disk" but any regular DVD lens cleaner kit will fix it. I had been dropped and knock of the table and still works fine and the battery life has not shorten the entire time I have had it. And the speakers aren't just juiced up headphone speakers so they are actually loud enough that you can hear them.

Have been using this portable DVD player for 1.5 yrs now and it has exceeded my expectations by miles. I use it at least 4 times a week for an hour at a time (set it up on treadmill, elliptical, arctic trainer while at gym) no complaints at all TIME TESTED as the BEST!!!

The big screen is wonderful. The volume is terrific. The screen has multiple settings to adjust brightness -- etc. The sound quality also has two sets of pre-set multiple setting (one set: rock, classic, jazz , dance etc. -- another set: area, hall, cave, church, etc.) so any DVD should sound pretty darn good. I've used the built in speakers alone; also some add on speakers that I already have, for home use. Also has parental controls and settings for PAL, NTSC. I've rated durability high, because I'm hoping for the best. I haven't had the player very long as of this review. It seems solid and well made. Overall, I am very please.

We bought this portable DVD player before we moved from Hawaii back to the mainland. The first thing that attracted me to it was it's long battery life, because any flight to or from Hawaii is a long one. I also liked that it had the swivel screen so that my toddler would not be able to touch the control buttons if I turned it around. She absolutely loved it. The sound is great on an airplane because my daughter refused to wear the headphones. We've used it many times since, even in our living room when our daughter wants to watch a video when we're watching something else. The only complaint I have is that when it first starts up, it's pretty noisy when loading the DVD and it's a little slow to load discs, which is why I only gave it four stars. It's worked great for what we intended to purchase it for. I'm actually going to buy another one as our youngest daughter is now at the age of using one when we travel.

I bought this expecting great things from the 10.1 inch screen but I am desperate to find my receipt and get this back to Best Buy. First, the screen is horrible! You cannot see a thing unless you are watching a very bright show. For any nighttime scenes in a movie or show forget it, you cannot see them. Sound was ok in the car. But my old Sony was louder. Battery life is one thing I will give it credit for. Phenomenal. Mine went for about 6.5hrs on a charge. Very impressive. If you plan on using this frequently I would say opt out and get the 9 inch sony. The screen is far more clear and bright and vibrant. Another downside on this is the remote reader is on the front of the machine. So if you have it swivelled, as I do almost all the time, the remote cannot work. Also, you cant change the volume from anywhere other than the toggles on the side which are sensitive to touch. All in all, stay away from this one unless you plan to dock it in one place and leave there .

MY 1ST ONE LASTED 4 YEARS AFTER BEING BOUNCED AROUND IN MY VEHICLE, GREAT PICTURE AND FITS ON TOP OF MY DASH. I WISH THIS ONE HAD THE PLUG TO RUN ANOTHER DEVICE SO I DID NOT HAVE TO USE A SPLITTER TO THE CIC LIGHTER. THE 12 VOLT PLUG IS THE ONLY WEAK SPOT AFTER HUNDREDS OF USE IT WILL QUIT
