Directions for a First Date
Oct 29, 2009 at 8:46 AMDirections for a First Date

Her name was Amanda, and oh yeah, this was going to be the best date she ever went on, I knew it. That's until I was outsmarted by my own GPS System.
I had my car all cleaned out, my best looking outfit on, and the cologne to attract the most beautiful woman I ever met. However, the first date that was supposed to get me a second, actually got me a smack on the face.
The plan was for dinner at Steve's Steakhouse, and then a rivoting performance of Cats at the Performing Arts Center. She was a theater major herself, and a fan of steak, so I thought this line up would be ideal.
Dinner went fine, as I had been to Steve's before. We spent an hour and a half on stimulating conversation and the food was fantastic. I was impressed, this theater major and dancer really loved her meat and potatoes. My kind of woman! I was really digging her, and I am pretty sure she was digging me at this point.
Now, the Performing Arts Center was across the metro area, and I had never been inside, but passed it once or twice before. I felt fairly confident in finding the place on my own, so I went ahead and headed down freeway 47 acting like I knew where I was going. That's what you do to impress a girl right, act like you have control and a grip on the situation and not stop for directions? Well, that's at least how my Dad said he met Mom.
Anyways, an hour later and 20 minutes into the performance, I was stuck in gridlock traffic on highway 122. I swear the Performing Arts Center was off 122, well I thought it was.
Amanda, who kept saying she had to go to the bathroom, urged me to pull over to use the bathroom and also to find directions. I stopped at a gas station and talked to the attendant while she was in the restroom. My friend at the counter said, I was 30 minutes in the wrong direction. Yeah, that wasn't good to hear.
Back in the car, she asked how close we were. I told her well, ummmmm....She could see the expression on my face that I got us lost.
She rolled her eyes, and while doing so, saw on my dashboard my Refurb Insignia NS-CNV10 3.5in Internet-Connected GPS on the side panel of her door. AH! I thought I hid it well from her. She picked it up, handed it to me in dissapointment and said, my Dad has one of these, use it!
Red in my face, I nervously used it's internet connection to the built-in cellular modem to use Google Maps, and she said 'Just Google it OK, to find the venue!'. Yeah, at that moment I could tell she was annoyed. Remembering there was bad traffic, she urged me to use the GPS' real-time traffic updates - Up-to-the-minute, real-time traffic information provided by traffic.com. Routes calculated with real-time traffic flow to determine the fastest possible route given the actual speed of traffic on the roads.
Maybe with this feature we'd see at least the second act? Nervously, I used the GPS' Text-to-speech and turn-by-turn voice prompts - allowing me to keep my eyes on the road while navigating with convenient voice guidance. However, I didn't want to talk much, because I think Amanda was tired of hearing my voice, I already could tell she thought I was just some big talker!
Let's just say this, the night ended with us missing the entire play, driving home in silence using the Refurb Insignia NS-CNV10 3.5in Internet-Connected GPS to find our way back, and her smacking me on the face when I tried to kiss her goodnight. Amanda, I will miss you.
So, my advice is, get this GPS system, don't be afraid to use it, as it will get you from A to B back to A safely, and if I would have used it in the first place, I'd already be driving Amanda to see Rent this weekend.

Disney Jam Stand MP3 Player Docking Station - Deal of the Day Oct. 4th
Oct 02, 2009 at 1:15 PM
Dear Santa,
I know it's probably too soon to tell you what I want for Christmas is the Disney DDS8005-BLK Jam Stand MP3 Player Docking Station in black, since it's only October, but I took the advice from my Mommy to write early. She says that if I write early I have a better chance to get what I want. Especially since all of your elves are just kicking back drinking hot chocolate right now during their shift at the North Pole factory. I knew they would have plenty time to honor my request, way before the rush of letters came in next month. What I really really really need is something to plug my Mix Stick (sold separately Mommy tells me) into so I can listen to some of my favorite Disney music while it's charging.
Mommy even has an MP3 Player too, and she wants to use the Black Disney Jam Stand Speaker as well. She knows it can charge with an AC Adapter any MP3 Player along with mine that came from Disney, with no need for batteries. Plus it's so pretty with all of the flashing colors, like red, blue, green and yellow (OMG, Red is my favorite!!) that appear while it's on. And the sound producing with full-ranger driver 2 x 30mm Hi-Fi sound, or even the ability to have 75mm sound with a stereo cable. Mommy says her friend's daughter has one and loves the sound quality of the Disney Jam Stand. So I pretty pretty please want one to for this Christmas. By the way, I know it may be weird to think I am a 30 year old man who still lives in Mommy's basement asking for this, but girls my age I meet off the internet think that the fact I listen to Disney music and believe in you gives me a unique sensitive side.
Sincerely,
Tommy

Digital Cocktail Bartender One less thing to remember
Aug 06, 2009 at 10:47 AM
Things to remember (a mother's memoir):
Birthdays, Social Security numbers, Anniversaries, shirt sizes, shoe sizes, underwear, pants, which brand changes all the clothes sizes, Favorite color, best friend, biggest fear, where the “lovies” are, the perfect laundry/softener/dryer sheet combo, which flavor of popsicles is the best, what they really want from Santa, doctors appointments, which tooth the last cavity was in, allergic reactions to medicine, allergic reactions to food, allergic reactions to putting the dishes away, lyrics to Disney songs, all the words from the favorite bed time book, where the smallest piece of a Lego was last seen, I forgot the rest….
Multiply this by the amount of children one has since it is different for each. Add 1 for a husband if present. Multiply by amount of extended family members if you are the unofficial social director for them.
Whats left? I dont remember what size shirt I wear. When I want to sit back and relax on the weekend and have a quiet 3 minutes to myself drinking a Bahama Mama, well, theres no way I can find the cocktail book anymore, that shelf was taken over by all the home improvement books and Dr. Seuss. I could go on the internet, but will be bombarded by all the emails telling me when the next play date is. I could ask the Mr. to do it, but he always makes it taste like gasoline.
What I need is a built in recipe book right into a measuring cup. Like this Digital Cocktail Bartender with 40 recipes. No remembering, thinking, over pouring! I can get a perfect mixture every time which ensures there is no over indulgence when I drink responsibly at the bridge club.
Get one. Put on some noise cancelling headphones and listen to your favorite Pod Cast and let the day wash away. Enjoy it folks. You deserve it.

React Odyssey Wireless Guitar for PlayStation 2 Viva la Revolution!
Aug 05, 2009 at 10:50 AM
This is not the greatest guitar known to man. I still want wireless whammy action. But in the meantime, you might ask, why buy this wireless guitar? The fret buttons are awkwardly placed and it feels too light. The answer is simple. Winning is everything. Extra guitars for dueling battles can be expensive. The React Odyssey guitar gives an unfair advantage. Moms can play against their children in battle mode for the dishes. Loser does them all! The price means that you can now afford to complete the ultimate guitar hero fantasy of smashing your guitar into pieces on stage or the comfort of your dated shag carpeted living room.
Parents will now finally be able to overcome the nimble practiced fingers of 10 year olds all over the world. They will tell them that the slightly smaller size of the guitar is made for their smaller size. But in reality, its about dominance. Now, the world will finally know how great we really were at Super Mario Bros and Punch Out, when they were 2 dimensional games. All those years of playing with simple joysticks comes to fruition.
Its your choice on how to win this battle. Without the React Odyssey Wireless Guitar, your battle cannot be one. I recommend three.

Deal of the Day - Insignia NS-CNV20
Aug 04, 2009 at 10:39 AM
Refurbished Insignia NS-CNV20 4.3in Internet-Connected GPS – Two for the road to the coffee machine
Art: Rampley! I need these reports done ASAP! Where is your head? On the road?
Rampley: My apologies, sir. I have been waiting on the status update I sent you a week ago to finish the data.
Art: A week ago? Really? I didnt see it. Must have gone to my SPAM folder. I will have my secretary call IT and have them look on the server for the document. I will get them to update the mail server so that I can get everyones e-mail. After that, I will make sure they reboot the servers for good measure.
Rampley: Um, I am not sure that all of that has anything to do with getting the request. Since you know I need it, why dont you just search your inbox for the email or just go ahead and send the report? I mean, it sounds like thats much easier.
Art: Dont you think I know how to use technology? Its not like this is One of those Refurb Insignia NS-CNV20 4.3 inch Internet Connected GPSs. Thats complicated technology!
Rampley: Actually sir, its got Text to speech and turn-by-turn voice guided prompts, which aids in smooth navigation. The units have built-in cellular modems that connect your GPS to the internet so you can use Google to search for stuff, real time gas prices, and traffic. Which means you wont have to call me to tell your secretary to e-mail the people in your Tuesday meeting that you are late because you got stuck in traffic, again.
Art: But I cant click all those buttons to get my location into the GPS. My fingers are like crab claws!
Rampley: Again sir, the 4.3 inch touch screen is large enough for crab claw like hands to enter information in.
Art: Rampley, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Rampley: Sir, about that report…. Will you send me the status updates?
Art: Rampley, we are friends now. Call my secretary and have her email IT so they can find it. Those knuckleheads have nothing better to do anyway.

DENON AVR1907 600watt 7.1 CH Home Theater Receiver is powerful enough to cure roommate annoyance.
Jul 31, 2009 at 9:27 AMDENON AVR1907 600watt 7.1 CH Home Theater Receiver

Dude, what up?
Dude.
Dude!
Dude?
Why are you using the back of my brand new Denon AVR1907 7.1 Channel Receiver as a dart board?!?!
I was bored. I was going to play this game yesterday while I watched a movie, but ended up getting sidetracked with some stuff and I saw the back of this and thought, DARTS!
But, I just got this. I was going to hook up my new Sony Bluray player to this and watch a movie on this with the TV I got. Sure I dont have the ability for HDMI-switching. But who cares? My Denon has 7 sweet channels each with 85 watts of pure soundage power. I was planning on drowning out the sound of your whining with this. It decodes even for 6.1 channel versions of Dolby Digital and DTS.
I dont see whats so sick about that. Darts is waaaay more fun.
I need a new roommate.
What?
Nothing. Just give me my Denon AVR1907 back so I can hook it up to my XM radio.
I forgot to tell you, the light socket broke when one of my darts went wildly astray. We are out of light bulbs.
Thats okay. My preprogrammed Glow Key Remote with Punch through commands will guide my way in the dark. Now if you dont mind, I need some alone time.
Sure you dont want to play some darts?

Deal of the Day that Saves you Money?
May 11, 2009 at 10:46 AMDeal of the Day That Saves Money?
Todays deal of the day is a Sony PS3 PlayStation 3 Game Console 40GB for $199.99. $199.99?! Are you kidding me?? Ok Shiesty McNugget....Lets throw this thing into perspective and see what you do every single week that this PS3 can do to save you money. Lets say your significant other wants to go out and party this coming weekend, but you know every time you go out it entails spending some dough, and a lot of it.  Lets think about this for a sec, you go out to a bar and get drinks ranging from $5 - $10 each (if youre lucky). Multiply this by 2 because  youre not drinking by yourself at a bar on a Friday night, we hope. Assuming youre not a one and done, bottleneck drinker, you can probably pound at least 8 drinks. Now, after your binge drinking ends youre going to have to go eat right? Add this all up and I guarantee this will cost more than our PS3.
How Can This Deal Save You Money?
What you need to do is challenge your significant other to a video game duel. As geeky as this may sound, this will bring that competitive drive that youll need to persuade them to stay in that night. Before you know it, the night is over and your wallet is still fat. Nice...

Above The Influence...The Hazards of Wii Addiction.
Apr 17, 2009 at 12:01 PM
I come from a long line of gamers.  Ever since I was a small calf, tall enough to slide a quarter into the local Dig-Dug game I was fascinated with gaming and how to beat the high scores that were tattered across the screen. Although my arcade gaming age began with the usual hits like Pac-Man, Asteroids, Centipedes, and Super Mario series, it wasnt until the early 90s when I came into my own, challenging the crowd of local tweens at Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2, and Tekken.
If I had a quarter for every round of those games that I played, Id prolly have a nice farm paid for, somewhere in California, where the happy cows come from.   I remember lining up challengers and knocking them off one by one, having too much fun for a convenience store arcade machine.   Now that Im all grown up, I had only my memories of the fun challenges of yesteryear.   Until I bought my Nintendo Wii.
Ive owned gaming consoles before.  Ive owned gaming computers before, but without a doubt, the Nintendo Wii is the most fun you can legally have while playing video games at your home.   The sheer fun that is generated while putting the smackdown on a golf ball, your first serve,  bowling for a spare, or that left hook that smashes your opponent into the ground its truly the awakening of your inner child.
That feeling, combined with your closest friends and family lining up to get their fair share of the beatings, and youve got a redefined game night that the whole herd can enjoy.   While it can be a little complicated to connect in the beginning, practically every cable only fits in one hole, which means that your average kindergartner can connect it up to the television.
If youre lucky enough to have the Wii Play game disc, theres even a cow racing game.

.
If thats not enough of a reason to buy this, take a look at the discounted price of our Cowpie of the day.   Happy Bidding folks!

A Zune by any other name.. is an iPod?

A Zune by any other name.. is an iPod?
If you happen to live anywhere near civilization, you can probably spit and hit an iPod or iPhone user.   This isnt really a surprise, as Apple apparently invented the MP3 player.   Todays Cowpie of the day is meant to open your eyes to the fantastic world of the Microsoft (GASP!) Zune.
Microsoft is a small software company based in the Washington state, while not particularly well-known, they do strive to produce a large variety of products, on what appears to be a limiting budget.    Amazingly enough, while scraping together a small bit of profit on their software, gaming, and hardware divisions, they managed to develop their own MP3 player, called the Microsoft Zune.  The Zune comes in a variety of colors and sizes, which is nifty.  The Cowpie of the day item on March 16 is a Red 30GB Zune.   Thats not enough space, you say!  I have more than 30GB of music, you shout.  Reality being what it is,  To put this in perspective, 30GB of music is enough to hold 10,000 songs.   Thats around 500 hours of music, which is just under 3 weeks of listening time, if you didnt repeat a single song, and you listened 24 hours a day.
I challenge all of you to buy one and try to fill it up with 10,000 good songs.  Of course everyone has the cheesy songs from their youth, truth be told, my zune is full of Swedish power ballads from the 80s.  Im a few hair extensions and an STD away from having my own rock of love show on VH1.   By good, I refer to songs that can be deemed instant classics.   In honor of you buying a Zune from us, I decided to put together a short list of songs that should be on everyones  Zune.  Or iPod.
The Blues Brothers &ndash Theme from Rawhide
DJ Farm &ndash the Cow Song (Techno Remix)  *No, Im not kidding, youtube it here:

Dana Lyons &ndash Cows with guns

Vaughn Monroe  - Ghostriders in the Sky
Reverend Horton Heat &ndash Eat Steak!
I encourage you to gorge your ears with this feast of musical sustenance.   Tunes about us cows dont come along every day.

What is a Cowpie?
Apr 09, 2009 at 9:03 AMIt is known by many names, some of which cannot be repeated at the dinner table.  It has many uses, including some rather non-conventional ones.  The story behind the modern Cowpie, and how it got is name is a rather strange one, filled with good times and bad, perilous situations, and treacherous green pastures.
The modern Cowpie is a mixture of high fiber and grain, and is called such because of the effects of gravity when the poo hits the fan... or ground in this case.  It is unique among barnyard residents, for its consistency, and the orifice from which it drops.  It can be referred to as prairie patties or meadow muffins, among other lovely euphemisms.  When left un-molested they will dry out naturally and crumble, to act as a form of fertilizer for the growth of the meadow in which they were "dropped".   Ever wonder how Green Acres was so green?  It was not pig poop, thats for sure.  You, like us, should embrace the magic of the Cowpie, in all of its splendor(1) .

That is why, with a heavy heart, I bring this next topic to the table.   There is an epidemic of pandemic proportions out there.  Somewhere between the Bon Jovi music videos of our youth, and the MTV/Shock Video age of today, Americas youth has wandered astray.  As clearly seen here, Cowpies are experiencing horrors and treatment typically reserved only for times of war.   These atrocities must be stopped.  Millions(2)  of Cowpies were harmed in the making of that video - where was PETAp(3)  (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal Poop)?  They were oddly silent apparently shamed and guilty from allowing this tragedy to continue.  There were no protest banners - not a single complaint was lodged with YouTube(4)   to ban horrific videos like this from being open to the public.  Imagine what is next, if this trend continues.  Every 6 seconds, another Cowpie is needlessly violated(5). This insanity must STOP.
Here at Cowboom, we want to change the way you think about glorious Cowpies.  We are so enamored with the concept that we have named our best daily deal after these beautiful, stinky treats.  Look for our Cowpie-O-the-Day featured on the home page of Cowboom.com.   These deals can be anything that we stumble across in our warehouse, items that are selected because of the amazingly low price that we can offer you folks.  And do not read too much into the name, there is nothing smelly about these deals.
For as little as a penny each day*(6) , you can help us relocate our Cowpies to your home, where they can live long, peaceful lives with a 14-day return policy(7) .
That is all.  Go forth and liberate some of our Cowpies.  Click here to see todays.
(1)Do not *actually* embrace a Cowpie, unless its the Cowpie of the Day item.
(2)This number may or may not be accurate.
(3)Not to be confused with PETA, who surprisingly do not have a care for Cowpies, despite being full of ____.
(4)YouTube is a registered trademark of someone, somewhere.
(5)This statistic is completely made up.  But it sounded good.
(6)Cowpie-O-the-Day deals vary daily.  Some are posted at unbelievably low rates, as low as 1-cent.  These 1-cent deals are at our  discretion, and you should check our site daily to get the best savings.  Plus shipping and handling &ndash DUH!
(7)See official Cowboom site for details on returns.  You pretty much have no option to return the item, unless we like you.
